Chapter 1: I Saw Her Name

Amara woke up to the sound of her boyfriend’s phone vibrating on the nightstand.

Jaylen was asleep beside her.

She reached over to silence it, but the screen lit up before she could.

One message.

Sienna: You promised she would never find out.

Amara froze.

Her heart started beating faster.

Who was Sienna?

And what exactly had Jaylen promised her?

Amara looked at Jaylen. He was still asleep, completely unaware that his entire relationship was about to change.

She picked up the phone.

Before she could open the message, Jaylen suddenly woke up.

“What are you doing?”

Amara stared at him.

“Who is Sienna?”

His expression changed immediately.

For a second, neither of them spoke.

Then Jaylen reached for the phone.

“She’s nobody.”

“Nobody doesn’t text you at two in the morning saying you promised me something.”

Jaylen stood up.

“Amara, please. Just trust me.”

She watched him delete the message.

Her stomach dropped.

“If she’s nobody, why are you deleting it?”

Jaylen said nothing.

That was the moment Amara knew he was lying.

She pretended to believe him, but she made a decision.

She was going to find out who Sienna was.

And she was going to do it without Jaylen knowing.

Because if he was hiding something from her, Amara wanted to know the truth before she decided what to do next.
